UHS Essential Health Sdn Bhd (USANA Health Sciences Malaysia), a subsidiary of US-based USANA Health Sciences, Inc achieved a 33 per cent growth in revenue when compared with 2007 for its financial year ended December 31, 2008.
The increased revenue is primarily due to the acceptance of USANA nutritional supplements by consumers in Malaysia, said its managing director for Singapore and Malaysia, Dr Andy Woo.
"We are proud to have won the BrandLaureate Best Brands Award for Advanced Nutritional Supplements for three consecutive years.
"This stands as a testament to consumer confidence in USANA's high quality products," he added.
"The number of active distributors is about 30,000 and it has grown by 36.4 per cent in 2008 over 2007. We hope to maintain the growth figure from 2008 for 2009," Dr Woo said.
Despite difficult global economic conditions, USANA Health Sciences, Inc continues to achieve profitability and growth in sales. Global sales in 2008 was US$429 million, an increase of 1.4 per cent when compared with the US$423.1 million for 2007. -- BERNAMA
